Panavision, the world-class provider of end-to-end solutions that power the creative vision of filmmakers, showcased innovative product offerings from across its family of brands at this year’s BSC Expo.
One of Europe’s biggest trade shows for the film and TV industry, BSC Expo marked a return for leading manufacturers and suppliers to showcase the latest equipment and technologies. Products on display from the Panavision Group included the latest from Panalux, a leading rental provider of lighting and power solutions for features, series, commercials and live events; LEE Filters, a premier global manufacturer of professional lighting gels and photographic filters that are used by photographers, cinematographers and lighting designers around the world; and Direct Digital, an innovative rental company with more than two decades of experience providing unparalleled support, technical specialisation, and state-of-the-art gear to meet content creators’ ever-evolving needs.
Panalux had its technical team on hand to demonstrate the popular Panalux Sonara family of variable-white soft-light LED fixtures, currently available in 4:4 and 3:2 form factors, with a 4:1 form factor coming soon. The division also showcased the latest innovations in its Panalux Power range, including the recently introduced i-Series portable lithium-ion battery arrays, which provide eco-conscious all-electric power for a variety of on- and near-set applications, and the self-charging h40 hybrid generator, which sits on a rugged 4×4 base and delivers 240V AC power up to a load of 40kW.
LEE Filters showcased its renowned library of lighting gels and diffusion, which deliver consistent, repeatable performance for technical correction and colour effects. For the first time at a trade show, the company also presented its recently introduced LEE Elements circular filter range. Available in four standard sizes, the LEE Elements range incorporates LEE’s Stopper, polariser and VND technologies, providing class-leading optical performance for content creators working in stills and video.
Direct Digital will demonstrate a wide selection of the latest product offerings from the company’s camera and lighting inventories. Direct Digital staff at the stand will also detail the company’s recent relocation into a newly refurbished facility in the heart of the industry’s West London corridor. The new site offers a prime location with easy links into central London, connectivity to other nearby Panavision Group services — including Island Studios, Panavision and Panalux — and potential for future expansion.
Panavision’s camera and optics division will also be represented at the stand with multiple cameras, including the Panavision Millennium DXL2, and a selection of the company’s renowned proprietary lenses.
