Panasonic announces a new LUMIX firmware update

Panasonic announces a new LUMIX firmware update to improve the shooting experience and sharing functionality of the LUMIX S5II and S5IIX.

After considering creators’ needs, the S5II Firmware V3.0 and S5IIX Firmware V2.0 were designed to improve production and post-production efficiency, resulting in significant time savings and cost reduction.

The new key features include:

  • Camera to cloud integration with Adobe’s – now supports Adobe Camera to Cloud compatibility, enabling images and videos to be automatically uploaded, backed up, shared, and worked on jointly via the cloud.
  • Proxy Video Recording – this innovative feature introduces the simultaneous recording of a low bit-rate proxy file alongside the original video recording, providing quick post-production processes.
  • Enhanced Real-time Autofocus Recognition– this newly improved system boosts the precise Phase Hybrid autofocus, efficiently recognising not only people, but animal eyes, car and motorcycles.
  • Enhanced E.I.S. Performance – with the additionalHigh mode added to E-Stabilization (Video) function, it’s now possible to achieve even more stable footage when shooting on the move.
  • SH Pre-Burst Shooting – this shooting function records bursts before shooting even begins.

The firmware will be available to download free of charge on 22nd April 2024.
