Learn about the growing Focuspulleratwork community

May 20, 2021

Focuspulleratwork (FPAW) is the fastest growing online community within the camera department.

With over 2,500 members from over 60 different countries, FPAW is connecting people all over the world who are working within the camera department to share information and learn from each other.

The platform offers a community-driven forum, a community file share server for manuals and other camera related documents, and a blog where people working in the camera department and partners are invited to write about certain topics.

User groups have recently been added, starting with a 3D printing community user group. In the near future, user groups will also be activated for manufacturing partners, where members of the platform have direct access to representatives such as product managers and technical sales teams and can ask them questions or give feedback about products and workflows.

The user groups will play an important part in the community as it offers a communication platform not only for the camera department, but also for manufacturers. FPAW is currently onboarding the first five big manufacturers to the forum, which will be announced shortly.

In the upcoming month, focuspulleratwork will also introduce a 3D printing Design Award.

Clemens Hoenig, FPAW founder, said: “At FPAW, we strongly believe that 3D printed accessories are the next step in the anally retentive evolution of the camera department. We see a lot of community members designing new and innovative camera accessories to make everyone’s life easier on set. It’s often the smallest parts and accessories that make the biggest difference to how our day goes! They solve a specific problem on set, whether it’s cable management, mounting rangefinders or video transmitters, they’re unique solutions that bigger companies are not able to bring to market because of the R&D costs. We are organizing the FPAW 3D Printing Design Award to support community innovators and motivate them, to share their innovations with the community.”

FPAWis also working on a podcast, with interview partners within the camera department and elsewhere in the industry.
