Jun 8, 2020

Dear Reader,

Thank you! We have been overwhelmed with joy to receive so many kind messages and calls – from readers and advertisers alike – about our 99th edition in May.

During these challenging times, your direct involvement and stellar support, in helping to keep the spirit of togetherness going strong through our pages, is inestimable.

We are nourished and energised by your enthusiasm, and are delighted to say the 100th edition of British Cinematographer Magazine will publish on July 13th.

And what a celebration of cinematography this next, landmark issue promises to be! Along with our popular regular features, we will also be looking at the major trends and momentous developments that have shaped cinematography, and the working lives of cinematographers, since our very first edition in 2002.

Special features will cover: advances in cameras and lenses, lighting, grip gear, workflow, the need to go green and to foster diversity, plus what the future might bring – all including the thoughtful voices of leading DPs and innovators around the world.

In the meantime, wherever you are, we hope you and your loved ones are keeping well, safe and in the very best of spirits.

Thank you once again. May the force be with you!

Ron Prince
