The first edition of the Prix AFC (French Association of Cinematographers) will reward excellence in cinematography.
The awards are divided into four categories: Feature Films, Series, Documentaries (longer than 60mm), and First or Second Feature films shot by a director of photography residing in France. Projects must either have been released in theatres or broadcast on streaming platforms in France.
This exceptional ceremony will take place during the Micro Salon on February 7, 2024, at the Parc Floral de Paris.
Lighting, camera, grips, post-production and sound, all the know-how of cinema will be present, in order to promote to professionals from all over the world the expertise and dynamism of the French technical industries and technicians.
These distinctions are open to all directors of photography, regardless their nationality and affiliation to professional associations, and to all projects provided that they have been screen or broadcast on French territory.
The Prix AFC is the only event in France highlighting works elected by their peers. It is also the first one on the French territory rewarding cinematography for TV series episodes and documentaries.
Several film personalities sensitive to the work of the AFC are participating, including Nicole Garcia, Daria D’Antonio, Marianne Lamour, Cédric Klapisch, and Alexandre Astier.
