Feb 16, 2017
Panavision and Sony were recognised for the conception and development of the Genesis digital motion picture camera, at the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Scientific and Technical Achievement Awards, which took place on February 11, 2017.
The Academy noted, “Using a familiar form factor and accessories, the design features of the Genesis allowed it to become one of the first digital cameras to be adopted by cinematographers.”
Panavision’s Bob Harvey said, “On behalf of everyone at Panavision, we want to thank all of the engineers, designers and dreamers working – whether for a big company or in their garage – to give the filmmakers the tools they need to make movie going that much more fun.”
