Nov 1, 2021

Screenwriter-director Pablo Salvador (Blue Eclipse) has embarked on the creation and production of a new documentary about legendary Swedish cinematographer Gunnar Fischer, known for his contribution to some of Ingmar Bergman most iconic black and white movies, such as The Seventh Seal, A Summer with Monica, Smiles of a Summer Night and Wild Strawberries.

Interviewees will include cinematographers Anthony Dod Mantle and Jens Fischer (son of Gunnar Fischer), as well as director Stefan Jarl, to name a few.

The music will be created by Jorge Arriagada (Time Regained), known for his collaboration with directors Raul Ruiz and Olivier Assayas. The film is based on Gunnar Fischer’s unpublished memoirs “Återblickar” (“Flashbacks”) and will feature respected Swedish actor Tomas Bolme, whose voice will bring to life Gunnar’s own account of his collaboration with filmmakers Ingmar Bergman, Anthony Asquith, Carl Th. Dreyer, Walt Disney and Jacques Tati.

Pablo Salvador is a Chilean-Swedish director and screenwriter. He is currently head writer of the film Aurora that will feature Tamara Acosta (“Machuca” by Andrés Wood) in the leading role.

The film will be directed by Sebastián Araya Serrano and produced by Patricio Pereira (Araña and Noticia de un Secuestro, the latter produced by AGC Studios and distributed by Amazon Prime Video).
