CVP, one of Europe’s leading resellers and providers of professional video and broadcast solutions, announce the shortlist for the inaugural Large Format Short Films Competition, created in partnership with renowned director and cinematographer Joe Ransom. 10 scripts have now been selected by a dedicated panel from amongst the hundreds of high quality entries the competition received, and the shortlisted entrants will now be invited to a special networking event to be held at the Cooke Gallery and Test Space London in Fitzrovia on June 11.
“We were astounded at both the sheer quantity and quality of the entries the competition received,” comments Joe Ransom. “Refining the field to a mere 10 entrants was a monumental task that took most of May to achieve, but we’re delighted with our selections and really look forward to meeting the creatives behind them at Cooke London.”
Cooke London is an immersive location where cinematographers can test Cooke lenses alongside the latest camera and lighting equipment. “As a proud sponsor of the Large Format Short Films competition, we’re pleased to host the second stage of the event at our Cooke Gallery and Test Space. We look forward to welcoming the shortlisted filmmakers to Cooke for this important networking opportunity.” Carey Duffy, Director of Product Experiences, comments.

“We were excited about the Large Format Short Films Competition when we launched it, and seeing the superb quality of the entrants and the shortlist that has been created we can see that excitement was totally justified,” says CVP MD, Jon Fry. “Creatives at all levels face many challenges in getting their films made, so we are delighted to be playing a part in helping to get a new generation of filmmakers’ work noticed and shine a light on the hugely impressive amount of skill, innovation and creativity that exists in the UK.”
