Oct 12, 2022
It’s less than three weeks until the application deadline for Stockholm International Film Festival’s new Nikon Short Film Award.
Founded earlier this year, the award seeks to encourage filmmakers from all over Europe to use their creativity and imagination to create the best possible short film in a maximum of 60 seconds. The winning entry will be shown at the festival and the winner will also receive a Nikon Z Series Mirrorless Camera and Lens of their choice.
The judges are led by Swedish Hollywood director Daniel Espinosa, who together with actress Gizem Erdogan and artist and actress Alba August, form the official panel. In addition to a Nikon Z Series Mirrorless Camera and Lens*, the winner will also receive professional guidance from established filmmaker, Tarik Saleh. Saleh’s latest film, Boy from Heaven (2022), witnessed great success having been awarded Best Screenplay in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.
Nikon has a long history of empowering creators all over the world and, together with Stockholm International Film Festival, they are investing more than ever in reaching out to filmmakers and creators across Europe to take on this challenge.
In collaboration with Kosta Boda, the winner will also receive a specially made festival statue. The winner of the Short Film Award will be announced on Wednesday the 16th November at The Skandia Cinema.
