BAFTA sets date for 2022 EE British Academy Film Awards

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced that the EE British Academy Film Awards will take place in London on Sunday 13 March 2022 and will be broadcast in the UK on BBC One.

The EE British Academy Film Awards are BAFTA’s highest film honours, celebrating and rewarding excellence in film.

This year’s Awards celebrated the very best in film over the past year and saw Chloé Zhao win Best Director for Nomadland; Frances McDormand and Anthony Hopkins win Leading Actress and Leading Actor; Promising Young Woman named Outstanding British Film and Bukky Bakray awarded the EE Rising Star Award following her role in Rocks. Other award winners included Daniel Kaluuya, Yuh-Jung Youn, Emerald Fennell and Remi Weekes (full list here).

In 2020 BAFTA undertook a wide-ranging Review and introduced changes for the 2021 Film Awards as part of an ongoing process of levelling the playing field for all entered films.
