Wireless LED lighting manufacturer Astera’s QuikBeam – launched in February at the ISE expo – has created a new category of uplight that is “ideal for both events and film applications, thanks to its extremely compact size and light weight”.

The new QuikBeam 8-Unit QuikCase Kit contains 8 x QuikBeam luminaires, 8 x PowerFlows for integrated AC power daisy-chaining, 16 x swappable QuikBrick batteries, and 2 ChargingDocks for convenient battery charging, all stored in the one compact QuikCase, which is exactly the same size as the existing 4-Unit PrepCase Kit.

“This is essentially everything needed to light a set, event, room, space, environment, etc., all organised and protected, ready to use wired or wireless – perfect for small and mid-size events, live broadcasting or corporate work and geared towards enhancing efficient workflow,” Astera said.

“This new 8-Unit QuikCase Kit joins the existing 4-Unit PrepCase Kit, a package including all accessories and remote prepping functionality, and the 2-Unit BackPack Kit, a perfect and ultracompact alternative for owner operators.”

The QuikBeam 8-Unit QuikCase is also available as a separate empty case, offering companies and individuals who have already invested in the kit or the film / TV / video dedicated 4-Unit PrepCase Kits to reconfigure their fixtures in a larger package.

The QuikBeam luminaire was launched by Astera at ISE in February this year and has already won several awards for its “ingenuity and quality engineering”.

This includes the TVB Europe ‘Best of Show’ at ISE 2026 award; an SLU (SoundLightUp) Award for Innovation 2026; the TVB Europe ‘Best of Show’ title at NAB 2026; AVTechnology’s ‘Best of Show’ at InfoComm 2026, and the ProHub Awards for Excellence 2026.

“This says a lot about the QuikBeam’s flexibility, since it has been recognised by respected tradeshows and magazines operating in all sorts of events, broadcasting productions, AV systems and film shoots,” Astera added.

“It is a rapidly deployable, single-source Fresnel fixture with a 13° to 60° QuikTurn zoom, swappable QuikBrick batteries, practical plug-and-play functionality and all the performance, high-quality colour characteristics of the Titan LED Engine, plus the innovative OutputGain feature.”

Following QuikBeam’s successful launch, further user feedback prompted the development of the 8-Unit QuikCase Kit.

The QuikCase “philosophy” – incorporating PowerFlow power supplies and QuikBrick battery units – is “ideal for all scenarios where between-show turnarounds are tight for time”.

At the rental warehouse, fully charged sets of QuikBrick batteries can simply be swapped into the 8-Unit QuikCase Kit, and the fixtures are prepped and ready to go out on the next job – an impressive way to maximise ROI for battery-driven luminaires.

The QuikBeam’s power compartment can fit a QuikBrick battery or a PowerFlow AC unit.

PowerFlow is a wired power supply that can feed either a single fixture or a line of QuikBeams from a single cable run – fewer circuits, less cabling, and faster rigging on larger or power-limited setups.

Multiple units can run at full output, all day, from a single 16 Amp circuit, ensuring continuous operation of the QuikBeam luminaire at full brightness and easy daisy-chaining. All of it via industry-standard and IP65 rated AC power cables.

Eight PowerFlows are contained in the 8-Unit QuikCase Kit.

The QuikBrick is a hot-swappable battery for wireless operation, chargeable via PoE, ChargingDock, or USB-C. Inbuilt PoE support adds additional wired connectivity plus direct Ethernet (sACN / ArtNet).

Sixteen QuikBricks are contained in the 8-Unit QuikCase Kit.

When hardwired or set to its maximum wireless runtime (1h 20m at full output), QuikBeam is even brighter and way more compact than the popular Astera AX5 TriplePAR – while packed with modern technology and extra features at a fraction of the price.

On site, 8 x QuikBeams – run wired or wireless – can be used to create a fabulous lighting setup for shows and events and can also work perfectly as tiny spotlights in film productions.
