Jan 19, 2024
Gardens Studios, London’s biggest film studio, and MetFilm School, a leading industry-focused film, television, and online media school, has announced the launch of its cutting-edge Three-Day and One-Day Virtual Production Courses. These innovative courses aim to provide comprehensive, hands-on education in the rapidly evolving field of Virtual Production.
“The world of media production is rapidly evolving, with Virtual Production playing a pivotal role in this change,” said Jonny Persey, Director at MetFilm School. “We’re delighted to partner with Garden Studios to offer these innovative courses, bridging the gap in training and education in this critical area. We aim to empower the next generation of creative screen professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in this new world of storytelling across all screen types.”
The Three-Day Virtual Production Course covers six modules, providing an in-depth introduction to Virtual Production and Unreal Engine. From the basics to advanced techniques and best practices, this course is suitable for industry professionals and enthusiasts looking to expand their knowledge in this burgeoning field.
The One-Day Virtual Production Course, on the other hand, is designed to teach students the basics of Virtual Production, equipping them with enough knowledge to continue their learning independently. This is particularly beneficial for students and industry professionals new to ICVFX, enabling them to confidently utilise it for a production.
Both courses are delivered in association with Garden Studios, known for their industry-leading experience in virtual production. The courses will be staffed by industry professionals currently involved with Garden Studios and working on the LED volumes based at their facilities.
“ICFVX is a game-changer for production. It’s essential for students to dive in and drive this innovation.” said Mark Pilborough-Skinner, Head of Virtual Production at Garden Studios. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with MetFilm School and share our experience and expertise with the next generation of media creators.”
To apply for these unique courses, visit the Garden Studios or MetFilm School website. Applicants must be 18 years old or over and have sufficient spoken and written English. The courses are suitable for beginners and those with basic skills.
