Wooden Camera announced that the popular ‘Ultra Arm’ has been redesigned and can now move across 3 planes, giving it a greater range of motion and room for added accessories. Since its introduction in 2016, Ultra Arm systems have been selected by thousands of filmmakers as the ideal mounting solution for on-board monitors, lens control systems, and other camera accessories.
“We’ve always loved the versatility of our Ultra Arm ball clamp design, but we’re always looking for ways to improve, so we upgraded the tension strength, while adding even more articulation to the design.” says Dominick Aiello, Senior Director of Accessories at Creative Solutions.
The double ball clamp on all ‘Ultra Arm’ units will feature a new updated design. Not only is it sleeker, it now features articulation on an axis that is not available on most other articulating arms. This allows for a greater range of movement.
The redesigned clamp is included with every Universal Ultra Arm v2 (Combo 1/4-20 & 3/8-16) – a uniquely versatile articulating system with 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 interchangeable knobs and non-slip rubber pads on each end. Also included are four locating pins – located in the Ultra Arm base – that can be installed in either variation for a SmallHD or ARRI accessory mount compatible device. The kit is available in Mini, 3″, 5″, and 8″ lengths.
Users can also customize their own tool-less articulating ‘Ultra Arm v2’ with the Ultra Arm v2 Customiser. Simply select the length and the mount on each end to build a custom Ultra Arm v2. Choose from the most popular industry standard mounts like 3/8-16, NATO Clamp, Hot Shoe, Super Clamp, and even the aforementioned Universal (Combo 1/4-20 & 3/8-16) Mount.
