Wildscreen has announced the launch of its inaugural edition of the Wildscreen Industry Summit, a new 3-day event designed to help the industry navigate the evolving landscape of natural world storytelling.
The Summit will take place from October 20-22 2025 in Bristol, the global hub of the wildlife film and TV industry, with a hybrid format allowing global participation online. A spin-off of the biennial Wildscreen Festival, it will be the first time that Wildscreen has hosted an annual industry gathering in Bristol.
Lucie Muir, Wildscreen CEO said: “We are launching the Wildscreen Industry Summit at a critical time for the global wildlife content industry. In a fast-changing, unsettled and ever-evolving industry landscape, our historical model of gathering our community together every other year at the biennial Wildscreen Festival, is no longer fit for purpose. Our community is seeking year-round leadership, collaboration and bold ideas. The future-focused Summit will convene the community together annually to navigate the challenges and opportunities of a world in flux, gathering together leading producers, distributors, commissioners and cutting-edge innovators in Bristol, the wildlife film and TV content capital of the world, to push the boundaries of the craft and the business that underpins it.”
Across three days, attendees will gain exclusive insights into the latest developments in storytelling craft, technology, funding, and content distribution, alongside unparalleled networking opportunities.
Key features of the Wildscreen Industry Summit include:
- Future-Focused Talks: Insights from commissioners, distributors, and producers on emerging trends and industry shifts.
- Curated Networking: Dedicated 1-1 meetings, pitching sessions, and career development opportunities.
- Practical Workshops: Hands-on skills-development sessions covering key skills such as editing, filming, and storytelling techniques.
Confirmed Summit sponsors include: Clarity Entertainment & Media joins as Official Travel Partner and Doclights, one of the leading documentary film producers in Germany.
The new three-day event will take place ahead of the Wildscreen Panda Awards Ceremony 2025 on 22 October, with Warner Chappell Production Music returning as Headline Sponsor. The awards celebrate the best in the global wildlife storytelling craft and remain the industry’s most prestigious awards. Regular deadline submissions for the Panda Awards competition, close on 17th April 2025.
