Wildscreen Festival Nairobi: Bursary and pitching opportunities now open

Bursary and pitching opportunities are now open for Wildscreen Festival Nairobi, held from 30 June to 1 July 2023 at the Alliance Française in Nairobi.

Bursaries

Wildscreen is supporting at least two bursaries for Kenya-based individuals and a further two for individuals based elsewhere in Africa, to Wildscreen Festival Nairobi.

These fully funded festival bursaries include:

  • A full festival pass to Wildscreen Festival Nairobi 2023
  • Travel to and from Wildscreen Festival Nairobi
  • Accommodation for the entirety of the festival
  • Per diem allowance
  • One year of Wildscreen Network Membership
  • Access to the Wildscreen Emerging Talent Alumni Network

Applicants can apply in English or Kiswahili using this form before the deadline of 12pm EAT on Thursday 1 June.

WildPitch

Applications are now open for WildPitch, which gives six filmmakers three minutes to pitch their wildlife project

to a jury of leading international commissioners and senior executives live on stage. Following a 3-minute pitch, the pitchees will get immediate feedback from the judges. The judges will choose the top three projects, which will walkaway with a prize fund totalling $19,000!

Cash prizes will be awarded to the best overall Pitch, plus two runners-up prizes.

The cash prizes are:
First prize – $10,000
Second prize – $6,000
Third prize – $3,000

Wild Pitch is open to new or established filmmakers born or living in Africa and projects can be submitted in either English or Kiswahili.
