The nominations for the 2025 UK Music Video Awards have been announced – with FKA twigs heading the list of multi-nominated artists.

The English star boasts nine shortlist places overall, including six nominations for her video for ‘Eusexua’ – the most for any single video at this year’s annual celebration of global music video creativity.

Also receiving nods are A$AP Rocky, Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Travis Scott, Little Simz and Wolf Alice.

A$AP Rocky’s video for ‘Tailor Swif’ has garnered five nominations, while the promo for Sabrina Carpenter’s global hit ‘Manchild’ has four.

Both videos are helmed by directing duo Vania & Muggia, who are the second most nominated directors at this year’s UKMVAs, just behind Jordan Hemingway, the director of ‘Eusexua’ and three other twigs videos recognised this year – ‘Childlike Things’, ‘Striptease’ and ‘Perfect Stranger’ – and a Travis Scott clip.

Two awards will celebrate the craft of cinematography at this year’s event.

In the Best Cinematography in a Video award, previous UKMVA nominees Christopher Ripley (Sabrina Carpenter – ‘Manchild’), Daniel Landin BSC (FKA twigs – ‘Eusexua’) and Rina Yang BSC (Little Simz ft Obongjayar & Moonchild Sanelly – ‘Flood’) line up alongside Jake Gabbay (Travis Scott – ‘4×4’), Norm Li (Travis Scott – ‘Drugs You Should Try It’) and Denys Lushchyk (A$AP Rocky – ‘Tailor Swif’).

The Best Cinematography Newcomer category will be a contest between Juanjo L. Salazar, Chaimuki, Ravi Doubleday, Bernardo Infante, Mikuláš Hrdlička and Toby Leary.

Award shortlists have been announced in a total of 38 categories at this year’s UKMVAs, recognising the best work in music videos in the UK and around the world, and the creative and technical talent behind them, defined by music genre, craft and technical expertise and individual achievement.

Among the hotly contested Best Video categories, FKA twigs faces competition from Charli xcx (winner of the UKMVAs’ Video of the Year last year with ‘360’), Lola Young, PinkPantheress and Elton John (for ‘Step Into Christmas’, with John played by Cara Delevingne) for the Best Pop Video UK prize.

Female artists also dominate the Best Pop Video International category, where Addison Rae, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and French breakout artist Theodora line up against Jackson Wang.

A full list of nominations is available on the UKMVAs website.
