Academy invites 529 to membership – including Laurie Rose BSC, Adolpho Veloso ABC AIP and more

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has extended invitations to join the organisation to 529 artists and executives who have “distinguished themselves by their contributions to motion pictures”. 

This year, there are 95 Oscar nominees, including 21 winners, and three Scientific and Technical Award recipients among the invitees.

In total, 22 cinematographers have been invited into the Academy. 

“We are delighted to invite this remarkable group of film artists and professionals from around the world to join the Academy,” said Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy president Lynette Howell Taylor. 

“Through their commitment to filmmaking, this year’s exceptionally talented class has made significant contributions to our global movie industry.”

The 2026 cinematography invitees are:
