The Tribeca Festival, presented by OKX, announced that the 24th edition of the festival will take place June 4-15, 2025 in New York City. Submissions are now open. For more than two decades, Tribeca has been a leading destination for new, groundbreaking creativity from established and emerging artists.
Tribeca 2024 was a record-breaking year with over 13,000 submissions and nearly 600 events for more than 145,000 attendees. World premieres of the year’s most anticipated titles included ¡CASA BONITA MI AMOR!, “Presumed Innocent,” Brats, Sacramento, and “In the Arena: Serena Williams.” Tribeca’s star-studded reunions, retrospectives, and live talks spotlighted names like Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Demi Moore, Andy Cohen, and the cast of “The Sopranos.” Next June will be bigger and better than ever as Tribeca continues to showcase the best storytelling in film, TV, games, immersive, audio storytelling, and talks.
Building upon the success of the 23rd festival, Tribeca today announced new opportunities for emerging filmmakers to premiere projects and grow their careers. From the new Creators Forum to expanded submission guidelines, Tribeca seeks to create more entry points for storytellers across mediums. The inaugural Creators Forum—a dynamic, multi-day summit taking place within the Tribeca Festival—is designed for the broader filmmaking community. It will feature conversations with today’s most innovative industry leaders, roundtables offering intimate group mentorship on topics ranging from festival strategy to distribution, case studies with key learnings from some of the biggest indie success stories, unique networking opportunities, and much more. Forum attendees will be able to capitalise on the depth of talent at Tribeca to grow their project and their careers.
“For over two decades, Tribeca has supported thousands of emerging and underrepresented artists, many of whom have gone on to become critically acclaimed, award-winning filmmakers. This tradition continues today with the launch of our new Creators Forum,” said Tribeca CEO and Co-Founder Jane Rosenthal. “As the industry evolves, Tribeca constantly seeks ways to make it more accessible to artists from all backgrounds, communities, and disciplines. The first-ever Creators Forum will do what Tribeca does best—facilitate connections, provide mentorship, offer creative support, and, hopefully, shift the trajectory of someone’s career.”
In addition to the launch of the Creators Forum, the short films program, which has launched 23 Academy Award nominees and seven winners since 2002, has expanded eligibility to projects screened in New York or online for out-of-competition consideration. Also, now in its third year, the Creators Market’s “Works-in-Progress” showcase will accept submissions. For the first time, filmmakers with work in post-production can submit to preview their project for an invitation-only industry audience at the Festival in June. Deadlines for all submissions are detailed below.
“Tribeca has always stood for making film accessible to all. With the Tribeca Creators Forum, and our new submission opportunities for works in progress and short films, we are excited to widen the aperture even further to ensure that Tribeca is as inclusive as possible of creators at every stage of their project and their career,” said Tribeca Festival Director and SVP of Programming Cara Cusumano. “Whether you have work that’s in production, already online, or just a great pitch waiting for the right audience, Tribeca is a launching pad for what comes next.”
