Sony is returning to BSC Expo 2018 in Battersea, London to showcase its latest CineAlta line-up, including its first full-frame digital motion picture camera system, VENICE.
BSC presents one of the first opportunities to see the next generation CineAlta camera system in the UK, ahead of its arrival to the customers in February. Designed to expand the filmmaker’s creative freedom through large-format, full frame image capture, VENICE was designed through close collaboration and careful research with the creative community, fulfilling the various requirements from filmmakers and production professionals.
At the show, internationally renowned British cinematographer Richard Blanshard will be showcasing the first content to be shot in Full-Frame using the VENICE camera system. He will also be delivering a seminar titled ‘Full-Frame shooting with CineAlta VENICE’ on 2nd February, from 16:15-17:15. Blanshard, who has worked on numerous high-profile TV shows and features, including The Saint, Mission: Impossible, Judge Dredd, Equilibrium, La Bohème and Where the Wind Blew, will be on the Sony Stand (506) to give his first-hand experiences of the latest addition to the CineAlta family.
Claus Pfeifer, Head of Technical Sales, Broadcast & Cinematography, Sony Professional Solutions Europe, said: “VENICE took the market by storm when it was announced at Pinewood Studios and LA in September 2017, and we’ve been inundated with pre-orders across Europe from both dealers and hire companies. It represents a powerful new addition to our leading CineAlta range and we look forward to showing the creative community how it can help them untap new creative potential.”
The VENICE camera system includes a Full-Frame licence feature in version 1.0, enabling filmmakers to experience VENICE’s full potential by utilising Full-Frame 6K 3:2 scanning mode, recording on X-OCN.
As well as its latest launch, Sony will be showcasing its wider range of solutions designed to support filmmakers in their mission to deliver emotional impact on screen. The compact 4K PMW-F55 will be on show, alongside the AXS-R7 portable memory recorder and the PXW-FS7 II XDCAM camcorder. Sony’s newest addition to a growing line-up of ODA systems and solutions (Optical Disk Archive) ODS-D77U will also be on hand, to demonstrate how filmmakers can realise the complete workflow from shoot to archive.
Finally, visitors will be able to experience Sony’s UMC-SC3A ultra high sensitivity 4K video camera, PMW-PZ1 memory player, RX0 shockproof and waterproof camera, BVM-E171 TRIMASTER EL OLED panel with HDR license.
Sony will be exhibiting from 2nd – 3rd February 2018 on stand 506.
