Sony announces 2025 Catchlight Film Festival winners

What’s Up, Neighbour? won at Catchlight Film Festival

Sony has announced the winners of the fifth annual Catchlight Film Festival, which recognises filmmakers from Australia and New Zealand that have chosen to tell their stories with a Sony camera. 

Among the winners are While We Still Have Time, from documentarian Ava Grimshaw-Hall and shot on FX6, and Jasper Cardozo’s Nothing Lasts Forever, shot on Alpha 7 IV.

Metamorphosis and Born to Hustle took home Best Cinematography in Fiction and Non-Fiction special laurels respectively, with What’s Up, Neighbour? getting a nod for Best Sony Lens Work.

The awards were announced at Sony’s second annual SceneScape expo held at White Bay Power Station in Sydney, with the Catchlight Film Festival set to return in 2026.
