Six VFX & Post experts join the VFX & Post Talent Agency

The new year has started with six new additions to the agency. All of these talents bring a wealth of expertise and skills to the table.

The new additions are: Co Producer Basia Lalik (The Palace / HBO);VFX Producer Mark Wellband (The Rig S1 / Amazon Prime); VFX Supervisors Barney Curnow (True Detective: Night Country / HBO), Theo Demiris (Blitz / Apple+), Andrew Lim (Pennyworth S3 / Warner Bros TV); and VFX Production Supervisor Jimmy Knowles (The Buccaneers / Apple TV+).

BASIA LALIK – Post Producer / Co Producer

Having established herself as a brilliant and highly organised Post Production Supervisor, Basia stepped up to the role of Associate Producer on S2 of Big Little Lies. Staying in the HBO fold she advanced to Co-Producer for S2 and S3 for the multi award winning series His Dark Materials. Basia is methodical, calm, pragmatic, incredibly hard working and has a vast understanding of post production. Working up the ranks on an incredible array of film and HETV, Basia has worked with some of the best teams globally, utilising cutting edge technology to cater for the ever-evolving post demands.

BARNEY CURNOW – VFX Supervisor

Starting his career as a Photographer and with an acute eye for composition and detail, it was a natural progression for (BAFTA winning) Barney to evolve into a Digital Matte Painter and 2D Artist. Having worked at several leading facilities in various guises and as an independent VFX Supervisor on smaller productions Barney built up an impressive list of credits and gained invaluable experience. Calm, pragmatic, hard-working, meticulous, collaborative, and big-hearted – Barney is a phenomenal VFX Supervisor.

THEO DEMIRIS – VFX Supervisor

With an incredible, creative eye for detail, a calm disposition and excellent technical ability Theo is a brilliant and charismatic VFX Supervisor. His ability to connect and understand the filmmakers’ vision is second to none which is only enhanced by his creative flare. With a background in CG and FX, Theo understands the nuance and subtleties required to make VFX look stunning, which was demonstrated beautifully in Matteo Garrone’s stunning portrayal of Pinocchio (Hanway Films).

ANDREW LIM – VFX Supervisor

Energetic, motivated, creative and technical Andrew is a brilliant emerging VFX Supervisor.  Working as a VFX Supervisor / Digital Artist in New York Andrew set up the boutique VFX facility, Entoptic Inc, so that he could fully service the productions he was supervising.  A lateral thinker, with a keen eye for detail, and a natural ability to understand and translate creative vision.

MARK WELLBAND – VFX Producer

Mark brings a wealth of experience, creativity and confidence to the table.  Before going production side, Mark spent 20+ years working in-house at Molinare in various guises including Creative Director of Virtual Studios, Art Director, Bidding Producer, VFX Producer and On-Set VFX Supervisor.  He’s wrangled productions from initial concept, script breakdowns, shoot production, right through to final delivery.  Mark has collaborated with an array of  Filmmakers, studios and networks and is hugely personable, calm, articulate and all round fabulous chap.

JIMMY KNOWLES – VFX Production Supervisor

With a Bachelor of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree under his belt  Jimmy’s academic training is a perfect foundation to becoming a brilliant VFX Producer. Starting his VFX career as a PA at Weta Digital his  fast learning and can-do attitude enabled him to hone his skills and learn from the world’s VFX elite.   Moving to the UK in 2018 to work in-house at DNEG, within a year he was asked to join the Netflix series A letter for the King as the VFX Coordinator thus starting his production side career. Charismatic, hard working, smart and a team player – we predict a very bright future.
