In the words of Luca Guadagnino (Challengers, 2024 – shot on 35mm) “Film has a memory. It holds onto things that digital forgets — the shadows, the imperfections, the soul of a moment.”
From Hollywood to indies, music videos to commercials… Celluloid film is rightly enjoying an exciting revival. It’s music to the ears for those of us who are desperate to ensure analog film never becomes “a thing of the past.”
Part of its survival is dependent on the medium being accessible for upcoming, indie filmmakers. And that’s why Silver Screen and Kodak, along with Cinelab Film & Digital, Arri Rental, Company 3 and The Film Festival Doctor have teamed up to support short film creatives. This ultimate analog film fund dramatically reduces the costs involved when shooting on film.
