ScreenSkills’ Make a Move programme boosts the career development of crew members identified by a production as ready to progress up the ladder, encouraging their on-the-job training.
Productions contributing to the Film Skills Fund are eligible for funding to support an individual making the next move in their career. They can access up to £15,000 to fund the individual’s training if stepping up to a HoD role, and up to £10,000 for other step up roles.
The individuals on the Make a Move programme will be able to apply for, or be in, the new grade in which they have been working at the end of their training.
The funding can be used for short courses; mentoring; travel and accommodation expenses; shadowing; or salary. The scheme can apply to any job grade other than a trainee position.
