Royal Television Society announces programme for RTS London Convention

Britain’s leading forum for television and media, the Royal Television Society (RTS), has announced the full programme for the prestigious RTS London Convention 2024. Taking place on Tuesday 17th September at Kings Place London, David Beckham has joined the line-up of high-profile industry leaders speaking at the event, where he will be in conversation with Co-Founder and CCO of SISTER, Jane Featherstone.

Additional new speakers for the one-day event include: Rachel Corp, CEO, ITN; Dame Melanie Dawes, Chief Executive, Ofcom; Cécile Frot-Coutaz, CEO, Sky Studios and Chief Content Officer, Sky; John Gapper, Business Columnist, Financial Times; Harry Hampson, Global Chairman – Investment Banking/Corporate & Investment Bank EMEA, J.P. The highly anticipated 2024 Convention, titled The Next Episode: Keeping Our Creative Edge, will be chaired by Netflix’s Anna Mallett, Vice President, Production, EMEA/UK, with Netflix serving as the Principal Sponsor for the event. New for 2024, the RTS London Convention is accredited by the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Standards Office, giving delegates the opportunity to formally recognise what they have learnt.

The event will see global leaders come together to discuss the future evolution of the television industry both in the UK and globally. From what makes a hit, to an in depth look at how to value a creative company, attendees will hear from a range of industry experts, and the Convention will be opened by Co-CEO, Netflix, Ted Sarandos. Throughout the day, UK Keynotes will feature Tim Davie CBE discussing the BBC’s support for regional economic growth and renewal; Alex Mahon reflecting on the first nine months of the Fast Forward policy to transform C4 into a public service streamer by 2030; Dame Carolyn McCall discussing how ITVX has been integrated with their linear broadcasting, and the new Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport, The RT Hon Lisa Nandy MP, outlining her priorities for the creative industries.
