Pixipixel upgrades all its Flobanks to bi-colour LED fixtures

May 10, 2022

Rental house Pixipixel announced that it has upgraded all Flobanks in its lighting inventory to Bi-colour LED fixtures. This move is part of Pixipixel’s sustainability plan and commitment to phase out all fluorescent tubes from its rental stock.

To convert its Flobanks Pixipixel has utilised the Power Gem’s GEMFlo – a broadcast-quality LED retrofit system which outperforms traditional fluorescents.

The new GEMflo fixtures are ideal for studio or location filming as these are lightweight and can be easily suspended from a rig or mounted on a stand. The fixture is fully dimmable down to zero and flicker-free even when dimmed. The 200W bi-colour unit provides accurate colour rendering for vibrant colours and healthy skin tones.

Managing director Steve Knight said: “Pixipixel is an albert-approved sustainable supplier and we are on the path to phasing out inefficient equipment for good. LEDs are considered the king of green lighting and we aim to upgrade all fluorescents as soon as possible. This is just another small step we are taking to help our industry tackle green challenges and reduce negative impact on the environment.”
