Performance announces return of its short film competition

The 2021 Performance Short Film Competition is back and like in previous years its back bigger than ever before.

Now in its fourth year, they’ve added a new category for student filmmakers, with £750 of prize money to be won in each of the seven award categories. 

At Performance, the team has aimed to play a supporting role in the film industry for over 20 years – and wish to play a small role in helping aspiring filmmakers.  

Since first launched the competition in 2018, Performance helped fund the creation of 13 short films – giving talented filmmakers more freedom to express their vision on the big screen and take that crucial step towards a career behind the camera. Performance is making this year’s contest better than ever, with the introduction of a new category just for students. 

How to enter  

To enter the competition, your short film needs to: 

• have been completed after 1st January 2019 
• have a maximum running time of 30 minutes 
• be supplied as a vimeo link 
• be submitted no later than the closing date: 31st August 2021
