Nominees announced for the LUX Audience Award 2025

The European Film Academy reveals the nominations for LUX – The European Audience Film Award, presented by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy in partnership with the European Commission and Europa Cinemas. The five shortlisted films were announced today during an announcement event at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
These are the five nominated films:
- ANIMALÂ directed by Sofia Exarchou (Greece, Austria, Romania, Cyprus, Bulgaria)
- DAHOMEYÂ directed by Mati Diop (France, Senegal, Benin)
- FLOWÂ directed by Gints Zilbalodis (Latvia, France, Belgium)
- INTERCEPTEDÂ directed by Oksana Karpovych (Canada, France, Ukraine)
- JULIE KEEPS QUIETÂ directed by Leonardo van Dijl (Belgium, Sweden)
The winner of the LUX Audience Award is chosen jointly by citizens across the EU and by MEPs. A platform to rate the nominated films will be open from 18 September until April 2025. The winner will be announced in April 2025 at a ceremony in the European Parliament in Brussels, in the presence of the representatives of the finalist films. Between September 2024 and April 2025, screenings and debates about the films will be organised by the Parliament together with MEPs.
