The National Film and Television School (NFTS) announce the launch of a new 14-week, part-time Post Production Coordination Certificate, designed to target new entrants keen to land post production assistant and coordinator roles.
Delivered in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Access, Netflix and Prime Video, the blended-learning certificate will take entry-level participants all the way through the production process, from pre-shoot to delivery, covering core areas such as technical workflows, tracking costs, creating key documents such as credits and collaborating with the wider post production team.
The programme will be run by Gemma Nicholson, founder of Post Super, who draws on her extensive background in post production and incorporates a comprehensive network of industry professionals to provide exclusive insights in sessions throughout the course.
To ensure that the course is accessible to as many participants as possible, the course fee is 90% underwritten by Warner Bros. Discovery Access, Netflix and Prime Video. As a result, successful applicants are required to contribute £210 towards the course, a significant reduction from the standard fee of £2,100. Recognising that this reduced amount may still pose a financial challenge for some, additional financial assistance may be offered. Further scholarship support is available for students from historically marginalised backgrounds and communities and travel grants are available to ensure that all students can take part in the course no matter where they are in the UK.
Caitlin Earley (The Gentlemen, His Dark Materials) graduated from the NFTS Post Production Supervision Certificate in 2021, a 6-month programme which caters to those with more experience, training for higher roles in the field; “Post Super and NFTS create an environment where you learn through the process, while gaining key connections and a thorough insight of all things Post Production.”
The course will be delivered via a weekly online lecture, and several in-person Saturday sessions that will take place at the National Film and Television School’s London base in Golden Square.
