Through visual examples and turnkey tips, Jones teaches viewers how to create a professional-level lens effect for $20. In his garage workshop, Jones reveals other DIY cinematography tricks to save time and money. Jones showcases how he builds his personal DIY lens effects from items available from most hardware stores. The lesson includes a downloadable PDF with shopping tips and instructions.
“When I began my career as a filmmaker 12 years ago, I struggled to find the information I needed to kick-start my career,” Jones says. “I was alone, I didn’t have much help, and it took me forever to figure out what it took to be a DP in the film industry and actually build a career. Now I’m established, I can share tools to help you navigate the film industry to get you where you need to be a lot faster.”
As a leading cinematographer with more than a decade of experience, Jones has shot music videos worldwide with some of the biggest artists in the industry including Zayn, Jack Harlow, Carlos Santana, Quavo, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa, G Easy, Pusha T, Three Days Grace, Falling in Reverse, PnB Rock, Rich the Kid, Travis Barker, Chris Brown and many more. He has since transitioned to shooting feature films; his latest feature, Issac, starring RJ Mitte and Dove Cameron, is in post-production and will screen at the Sundance International Film Festival.
