MTF Services brings Sirui anamorphic lenses to Sony FZ mount

Mar 4, 2021

MTF Services has announced a new FZ mount conversion option for the Sirui 1.33x anamorphic prime lenses. The new bespoke FZ-converted versions of the Sirui 24mm f2.8, 35mm f1.8 and 50mm f1.8 lenses allow each to be used on the Sony PMW-F5/F55 and PMW-F3 cameras.

The 1.33x anamorphic squeeze factor of the Sirui lenses is perfectly suited to the 16×9 aspect ratio image of these Sony models and fully covers their Super35 sensor.

Once correctly de-squeezed the result is a 2.4:1 letterbox image with beautiful stretched oval bokeh and the sought after blue streak anamorphic flares. With this distinctive look the trio offer a great new lensing option for drama, documentary and commercial shooters who own or use these cameras regularly.

The FZ conversion for these lenses is the latest mount to be offered by the UK-based MTF Services, joining the company’s existing RF-mount and L-mount options for each of three focal lengths.

Each lens is sold pre-converted and can be purchased from MTF Service’s authorised dealers or directly from the MTF Services website. The 24mm f2.8 costs £900 (plus tax), the 35mm f1.8 costs £787 (plus tax) and the 50mm f1.8 costs £649 (plus tax).  All versions are available to order immediately.
