Mission announces new hires
Jul 22, 2021
To coincide with their tenth birthday, Mission has been making a series of investments in facilities and people to establish their service as the world’s first ‘starting’ facility.
In addition to their expansion into Shepperton Studios, where they have built a state of the art UHD/ HDR dailies facility, Mission has added three new key people to their team, supporting their growth to meet client demand.
Mission has announced that Kevin Shaw CSI, Miles Stormer and Will Newman have joined the Mission team.
Kevin Shaw, brings not only his wealth of experience in both a technical and creative capacity as a colourist, but also his ability as a master trainer. Kevin is able to fill both the role as a ‘starting colourist’ as well as a ‘finishing colourist’. With so many stakeholders in the process now, dependent on colour being correct, Kevin’s experience is invaluable to make sure the cinematographers intent is clearly carried through the post process to all vendors.
Shaw said: “I am really excited to combine my knowledge and experience of post-production with the skills and success of Mission so that together we can properly manage and communicate images from the vision of the DP, through VFX and editorial, up to and including the keen eye of the Finishing Colorist”
Miles Stormer, with his thirty plus years experience at The Mill, has joined to head up their Workflow Solutions team. As they tighten the integration between set, DI and VFX, Miles’s perspective will be invaluable to making sure the path of metadata is clear.
“My role here as Head of Workflow is to establish coherent pipelines to reduce problems and inefficiencies I have spent years trying to eliminate or influence. I am looking forward to bringing my 30 years of experience from one of the world’s premier finishing houses, and playing a part in establishing and benchmarking the world’s first starting house” said Stormer .
With over ten years experience at ARRI, Will Newman joins Mission to head up our Field Solutions team, covering on-set/ near-set services. Will’s undisputed knowledge of cameras, lenses and workflow strengthens our knowledge base as we look to guide our customers through the plethora of options available in digital production.
“Having spent over a decade at the forefront of camera rental, I look forward to bringing new innovation with Mission, a team synonymous with excellent production and post production services. “ said Newman.
“The industry has seen many changes over the last decade, and as the streamers and studios look to produce more content with higher production values, having a partner that can support them through the whole process will be an invaluable resource. These three hires clearly demonstrate our faith in the industry and our belief in what production today requires.” concluded Mark Purvis, managing director at Mission.
