After nearly 25 years of running CML (Cinematography Mailing List), renowned British cinematographer Geoff Boyle NSC is saying farewell.

CML has moved to Los Angeles and is now run by Chairman Roberto Schaefer AIC ASC; Secretary Mark Weingartner ASC; CFO George Hupka; Director, Europe Sir Franz Pagot AIC; and CTO Adam Wilt. Mick van Rossum NSC will be supervising camera and lens testing with Adam.

Geoff is inviting the industry to join him this Wednesday (7th July) as he reveals how CML began and has evolved into a highly respected source of information and insight for cinematographers and filmmakers around the globe.

Taking place at 9am in LA/Noon New York/5pm London/6pm Amsterdam/9:30pm in Mumbai, the Zoom session can be joined at the following link… https://zoom.us/j/94426303343

“On Wednesday I will ramble about the beginnings of CML and how we have changed over the years and how we need to change more,” said Geoff on the CML website. “I’ll undoubtedly ramble about all kinds of things and have even less fear of offending people now that I have nothing to do with running CML and anything I say will be my personal beliefs and not the responsibility of CML.”

Boyle has had a stellar career spanning decades working across multiple disciplines within the world of visual storytelling. The renowned British cinematographer started as a stills assistant in fashion and advertising in 1970, moving into moving images in 1973. After shooting news, documentaries and music videos he made the move to commercials in 1985. He then moved to movies in 2005.

With a lifelong passion for learning and sharing, Boyle has always forged his own path, from being one of the first videographers to work on the Pirelli calendar shoot to creating the Cinematography Mailing List platform. He is an advocate for a positive mindset, which has set him in good stead not only during his career, but over recent years.
