Framestore names head of studio and head of production for Vancouver

Mar 16, 2022

Framestore is pleased to announce two key hires to its Vancouver studio as it enters the next phase of its major global expansion.

Naomi Stopa joins the company as head of studio, Vancouver and Jinnie Pak joins as head of production, Vancouver.

These high-profile management team roles form part of ongoing strategic work to integrate Method Studios’ film and episodic teams in Vancouver, Montreal and Melbourne into Framestore. This, combined with the expansion of Framestore’s Mumbai office and the rapid growth of its pre-production services divisions will boost the Oscar-winning creative studio’s team of artists, producers and technologists by 40%, and give clients access to an incredible talent pool that spans four continents – all of whom will work within the established Framestore VFX pipeline.

Naomi Stopa joins from Digital Domain where she was head of production for Vancouver, Montreal and LA. She previously held positions with ILM, Method Studios and Rainmaker, and her credits span titles such as Oscar nominee Free Guy, Black Widow and Bong Joon-ho’s Okja.

Jinnie Pak joins from Electronic Arts where she was Senior Producer, and also held roles with ILM and Method. Her VFX Production credits include Jungle Cruise, Overlord and Transformers: Age Of Extinction.

Framestore’s global managing director, film, Fiona Walkinshaw, said: “Being able to strengthen our new Vancouver studio with such superb talent is a real coup for Framestore. Naomi and Jinnie have both carved exceptional careers for themselves, and their knowledge, skills and expertise will be pivotal when it comes to building the team, driving forward existing projects and bringing major new titles to BC. It’s also nice to note that this is a ‘coming home’ of sorts for both Naomi and Jinnie, who both worked for the studio under the Method banner. Their insights and deep knowledge of the Vancouver market will doubtless prove invaluable, both on the ground and as part of our global management team.”

Working from offices in London, Montreal, Vancouver, Melbourne and Mumbai, Framestore’s team of artists, animators, producers, developers and engineers working across film and episodic has increased by 40%. The Oscar, Emmy and BAFTA-winning company is currently working on an exciting slate of film and episodic titles for the world’s biggest studios and directors. Upcoming titles include Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore, 1899, The Little Mermaid, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, Elvis, Slumberland, Top Gun: Maverick, His Dark Materials s3, Ms. Marvel, The School For Good And Evil, The Wheel Of Time, Peter Pan And Wendy, Spiderhead, Downton Abbey: A New Era, The Sandman, Thor: Love And Thunder and Men.
