DPs Tasha Back and Nathalie Pitters among Screen Stars of Tomorrow
Jun 30, 2023
Industry publication Screen has released its 2023 UK and Ireland Stars of Tomorrow, the 20th edition of its annual talent showcase. This year’s selection puts two cinematographers, Tasha Back and Nathalie Pitters, in the spotlight.
Tasha Back made her name in the camera department for over 10 years, working on projects including Steve McQueen’s Hunger, World War Z and The Marvels. As a DP, she won the BSC Short Film Cinematography competition in the BSC Club category for her work on short Enjoy. Her recent projects include lensing Adura Onashile’s GIRL, which premiered at Sundance 2023, and Naqqash Khalid’s feature In Camera. Read her New Wave profile.
Nathalie Pitters trained on the MA Cinematography course at the National Film and Television School under Channel 4’s sponsorship. Her awards include the CTBF John Brabourne Award for Emerging Talent sponsored by the British Cinema and Television Veterans (BCTV). Her diverse work spans narrative projects, fashion films, commercials, and music videos both in the UK and abroad, and she has a particular affinity for themes that resonate with her on a personal level.
Congratulations to Tasha and Nathalie, and we look forward to following their careers!
