Cannes unveils 2022 Official Selection
Apr 19, 2022
Michel Hazanavicius’ zombie comedy Z will open the festival out of competition.
47 titles were unveiled (as well as the previously announced Elvis and Top Gun: Maverick), which is down on last year’s 83, although more titles are expected to be announced in the lead up to the festival.
The Cannes Premiere strand, introduced at last year’s event, features four titles so far, compared to ten in 2021.
This year’s edition is returning to a more traditional May 17-28 slot after being moved to July in 2021 due to the pandemic.
