Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival (EMIFF) has welcomed British Cinematographer as its latest media partner in the lead-up to its 11th edition, from 26 October until 1 November.
The announcement comes as part of leading Spanish film festival EMIFF’s new Cinematography Focus, which will see an international array of DPs come together on the sunny Spanish island for panels and networking. British Cinematographer will host one of two cinematography focused panels on the topic indie filmmaking, with a stellar line-up of panellists to be announced soon.
EMIFF was founded by the German-born, Mallorca-raised actress and filmmaker Sandra Seeling Lipski in 2012. Held in Palma, the island’s buzzy capital, the festival unites filmmaking talent from Mallorca and beyond for a packed week’s programme in a range of striking venues. Attendees can enjoy features, shorts, documentaries, music videos, films for children, experimental films, animation shorts, student films, and a feature film and short film screenplay competition.
EMIFF offers plenty of networking opportunities for those in the industry, including a Producers’ Club and Pitch Forum. Furthermore, the event’s awards give filmmakers the chance to win prizes worth up to €25,000.
“We are extremely thrilled to partner with British Cinematographer for the 11th edition of the Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival. British Cinematographer is without a doubt one of the most highly respected publications in our industry and it’s an honour to partner with them for this fall and beyond. Together, we can help further educate the community of cinematographers in Mallorca and Europe,” said Sandra Lipski, founder and director of Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival.
“Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival has built up a fantastic reputation as one of the leading international events for the filmmaking community. With the introduction of the new cinematography strand in 2022, there’s no better time for British Cinematographer to join forces with the festival to celebrate the talent and work of cinematographers from around the globe,” said Zoe Mutter, editor, British Cinematographer magazine.
