The British Film Designers Guild (BFDG) has announced the finalists in 12 of the 15 categories for its upcoming Production Design Awards. The final round of voting is now open to BFDG members, and the winners will be revealed at a prestigious ceremony scheduled for 22nd February at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel.
The shortlist includes awards for film, TV, commercials and, for the first time, the BFDG will celebrate the Art Department professionalism, creativity and skill in a new category for Best Production Design – Music Video. The finalists in this category are:
Forest Claudette: Everything Was Green – PD: Joseph Tiernan, AD: Patrick Whelan
Sabrina Carpenter: Taste – PD: Grant Armstrong, AD: May Mitchell, SD: Kelsey Fowler
Sophie Ellis Bexter: Freedom of the Night – PD: Harrison Clark, Stylist: Lola Chatterton
Recent box office smash hit Wicked features alongside other successful 2024 releases Dune Part 2 and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in the Best Production Design Major Motion Picture – Fantasy category.
The ceremony has become a well-established event in the annual Film and TV awards calendar, attracting some of the most talented creatives in the industry, as well as BFDG members and supporters.
BFDG Chair, Jonathan Paul Green said: “Huge congratulations to all of the productions that have been shortlisted. I am blown away by the incredible amount and quality of submissions for this year’s BFDG Awards, across all categories. It is a huge testament to the talent and excellence of our members and is something to be enormously proud of. We create some of the best productions in the world”.
The Guild is delighted to have the continued support of our long-time sponsors, and we are truly grateful for their commitment to the Art Department. It has also been wonderful to welcome a number of new sponsors into our membership this year, reflecting just how important the role of the Art Department is to the continuing brilliance of the British Film & TV Industry.
