bebob introduces multi-voltage block battery with more power

Apr 11, 2024

The bebob CUBE 1200 has long since made a name for itself as a portable power source for high-performance lights on set. Now the Munich-based battery manufacturer is launching an even more powerful version of the Li-ion block battery on the market with the CUBE 1200/700. With a maximum load of 700W at a capacity of 1140Wh and various voltages (14.4V/24V/ 48V), the CUBE 1200/700 can reliably supply even the latest power-hungry lights on set with power for longer periods of time.

Compact Li-Ion multi-voltage battery with 700 watts and a variety of outputs

Block batteries are usually very heavy and bulky – but the CUBE1200/700 makes a difference: with its compact dimensions and weight of just under nine kilograms, it is significantly lighter than comparable models. The new CUBE was developed especially for the operation of state-of-the-art lights with maximum output. In addition to its outstanding output power of 700W, it scores highly with its flexible application options. A wide range of connections are available for all standard camera models and lights: Including three 12V outputs (1x D-Tap, 2x XLR), two 24V outputs (XLR) and a 48V output (XLR) with cable compensation. The two USB outputs (5V) are also convenient: These can be used to operate and charge external devices – for example, if the power from a smartphone or tablet runs out on set …

Like its predecessor, the CUBE 1200/700 has an integrated charger and can be fully recharged within eight hours. Alternatively, it can also be used as a mains adapter, providing up to 150W of output power.

Another major advantage for the environment and budget: as with all bebob batteries, the old cells in the CUBE 1200/700 can be replaced with new ones when their capacity decreases.

Enough power for demanding lights

The 48V output and 15A allow the CUBE 1200/700 to operate even the most demanding lights at maximum power. For example, the new block battery supplies the SkyPanel X21 (ARRI), the Sumomax (Sumolight) and the Vortex8 (Creamsource) with power for 1 hour 45 minutes – they all only reach top form with an output of more than 600W. It can power the ARRI Orbiter with 500W for over 2 hours 15 minutes and the SkyPanel S60-C/S120-C with 400W for around 3 hours.
