BAFTA has announced the nominations for the BAFTA Cymru Awards, honouring excellence and celebrating talent across film and television in Wales.
This year’s BAFTA Cymru Awards will be back in-person in Cardiff for the first time in two years, with 21 categories spanning craft, performance and production. Alex Jones returns to host the special ceremony at St David’s Hall on Sunday 9 October, and will be joined by a host of stars to announce the winners on the night. The ceremony will also be available to watch on BAFTA’s YouTube channel @BAFTA.
Highlights from today’s nominations include:
- Dream Horse (five nominations) – Actor, Feature Television/Film, Make Up and Hair, Photography and Lighting: Fiction, Sound.
- In My Skin (four nominations) – Actress, Director: Fiction, Television Drama, Writer.
- CODA (three nominations) – Actress, Director: Fiction, Writer.
- Grav (three nominations) – Feature/Television Film, Photography & Lighting: Fiction, Writer.
- Mincemeat (“On the Edge”) (three nominations) – Actress, Breakthrough Cymru, Television Drama.
- The Pact (three nominations) – Actor, Photography and Lighting: Fiction, Writer.
“Not only is it a real privilege and honour to be hosting the BAFTA Cymru Awards once again, but for it to be back this year as a live ceremony is just so exciting,” said host Alex Jones. “There really is no better atmosphere in which to recognise and celebrate all of the amazing television and film being produced in Wales – huge congratulations to all of the nominees.”
