Andrew Tiffen has been named President and COO of The Tiffen Company.
The appointment marks 86 years and three generations of family ownership of the renowned firm specializing in the development, and manufacture of essential equipment for motion pictures, still photography and broadcasting. Andrew is preceded by his father Steven Tiffen, under whose leadership the company acquired and nurtured several essential industry brands. He continues with the company as Chairman and CEO.
With the enterprise for 12 years, Andrew Tiffen is responsible for all Tiffen operations, overseeing manufacturing, marketing, sales, R&D, and Product Development for the company’s brands, including Tiffen Filters, Steadicam®, Lowel®, Domke®, Davis & Sanford®, Stroboframe® and Zing®.
The Tiffen Company was founded in 1938 by Sol Tiffen and later joined by his brothers Leo and Nat. What began as a distributor for camera accessories, grew into the industry’s top manufacturer of high quality cinema filters, securing The Tiffen Company’s place in the motion picture and television field. The recipient of multiple Academy and Emmy Awards, Tiffen Filters are still manufactured in their Hauppauge, Long Island factory. Additional facilities are located in Burbank, California where Steadicam® is built, and at the Pinewood Studios, London.
