London Film School launches free National Saturday Club
Aug 12, 2022
London Film School (LFS) has joined the National Saturday Club to offer 13 – 16 year olds an insight into the filmmaking world.
The new LFS Film & Media Saturday Club will launch from 8th October and will run for a total of 18 weeks, giving young people a chance to study at LFS in the heart of Covent Garden.
Club members learn various film techniques as they watch, discuss, and make films in class and at home. Sessions are led by professional filmmakers and take place at LFS in Covent Garden on Saturday mornings, from 10am until 12pm over three terms until 18th March 2023.
The LFS Film & Media Saturday Club follows the ‘Cinema, 100 Ans de Jeunesse’ programme, an international film education project which is run in collaboration with the British Film Institute. This provides a unique opportunity to experience cinema, explore filmmaking and connect with other budding filmmakers from around the world. The final film will be screened at the BFI’s National Film Theatre.
In addition, Club members will participate in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition.
This free course will give 13–16 year olds the opportunity to explore a subject they love, learn new skills and find out more about further study and careers in the screen industries.
