Candidates for CST Award for Best Young Female Film Technician revealed

With this award since 2021, the CST wishes to highlight the representation of women technicians in charge of image, sound and decoration in French productions in the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival.

This year, of the 54 positions examined in the 18 French films in the Official Selection, 17 are held by women, and 37 by men.

This snapshot of the technical teams on French films at the festival distinguishes five formidable candidates under the age of forty competing for the CST Award for Best Young Female Film Technician:

  • Marion Burger – Production designer on Vincent Maël Cardona’s Le Roi Soleil (Séance de Minuit)
  • Armance Durix – Head sound operator on the film Dalloway by Yoann Gozlan (Séance de Minuit)
  • Mariette Mathieu-Goudier – Head sound operator for the film Love Me Tender by Anna Cazenave Cambet (Un Certain Regard)
  • Eponyme Momenceau – Cinematographer for the film Connemara by Alex Lutz (Cannes Première)
  • Mathilde Poncet – Production Designer for Anna Cazenave Cambet’s Love Me Tende

These talented technical artists contribute to the presence of French films in the Official Selection, and set inspiring examples for future generations of technicians.

Created on the initiative of Claudine Nougaret and Angelo Cosimano, this year’s CST Award for Best Young Female Film Technician is supported by photographer Claudine Doury. The jury includes Françoise Noyon, cinematographer, and Rémy Jacquelin, director of the ESEC film school.

The winner of the 2025 edition will be announced on May 24.
