Brompton Technology powers Metaverse Production’s Studio PX ANZEN

Nov 25, 2024

The Metaverse Production project, a collaborative initiative aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving process efficiency in video production through advanced technology, has launched Studio PX ANZEN, a state-of-the-art LED facility located at FACTORY ANZEN STUDIO RED in Tokyo, established by Dentsu Creative Cube Inc. Powered by Brompton Technology LED processing, the studio provides an ideal setup for virtual production filming. It is also the first studio in Japan to adopt the ‘Carbon Calculator for Movie Production’, a tool designed to accurately measure CO₂ emissions throughout video production.

Studio PX ANZEN’s LED display systems leverage Brompton 4K Tessera SX40 LED processors, delivering exceptional performance and colour accuracy essential for high-quality virtual production. For the main background screen, ROE Visual’s Ruby 1.5F (1.56mm pitch) is installed in a 12m by 4.5m configuration, delivering ultra-high definition at 7,680 pixels wide by 2,880 pixels high. Ambient lighting is provided by ROE Visual Carbon3 Mark II (3.75mm pitch) panels, installed on the ceiling (7.2m by 6m) and sides (1.8m by 3.6m, movable) for adaptable, high-brightness illumination. The studio’s in-camera VFX workflow is further supported by disguise vx4+ media servers and rxII rendering servers, alongside stYpe’s RedSpy 3.0 camera tracking, ensuring seamless integration and a fully immersive production experience.

The studio team utilises Brompton’s latest Tessera v3.5 software features, such as Dark Time Insertion, which builds on the company’s patented ShutterSync® technology. This feature allows users to specify Dark Time within the frame period, reducing motion blur and enhancing the viewer experience. Red Spy Hidden Markers Integration and Custom Markers, Frame Remapping, ChromaTune, Extended Bit Depth and other industry-leading Tessera features are also deployed.

“Collaborating with industry leaders like Brompton Technology enables us to achieve unmatched processing performance and visual fidelity for our virtual production needs,” says Junichi Imokawa, Director and Managing Executive Officer at Hibino. “Their LED video processing technology, combined with our commitment to sustainability through tools like the Carbon Calculator for Movie Production, is helping us set a new standard for environmentally conscious video production.”

“It’s exciting to see Studio PX ANZEN become the first studio in Japan to take this crucial step toward precisely measuring CO₂ emissions during video production,” concludes Elijah Ebo, Brompton’s Director of APAC Operations. “Their commitment to sustainability represents an important move for the future of the industry, and we are proud to see our LED video processing technology support their innovative facility.”
