FOMO House launches London’s first filmmaking clubhouse

Apr 24, 2024

East London kit rental house FOMO has officially launched FOMO House, a clubhouse offering London’s filmmakers access to desk space, community, job board, studio, kit and more.

FOMO Rentals – a kit rental house specialising in equipment rental for short form and indie content – launched FOMO House, a 3000 sq ft clubhouse aimed at providing key resources including desk space, an active community and paid freelance jobs to freelance filmmakers and production companies.

Founder Jamie Bezencenet, started FOMO Rentals in 2019, with just a single Sony A7Sii and two cheap lenses in 2019, renting them from his bedroom via the Fat Llama app. FOMO has grown significantly since then and now boasts an extensive inventory and thousands of happy customers. Despite its growth FOMO still stays true to its roots as a kit provider whose focus is helping up-and-coming talent, freelancers and small production companies achieve their creative goals.

“It’s never just been about kit for us. Yes, access to kit is vital, but it’s not everything. As someone who only moved into filmmaking in my 30’s, I know first hand how important things like network and community are. Despite the fact that most jobs are won through word of mouth, most professionals in our industry work alone, or in small teams, and often remotely. As a rental house we are in a privileged position. We are a physical space that already attracts and has relationships with filmmakers. The launch of FOMO House allows us to expand on this by offering our community a clubhouse with key resources such as desk space, community and events. We are also working on other exciting benefits including a live job board for members.”
