The 2023 WFTV (Women in Film & Television) Awards toasted the work, success and achievements of women in front of and behind the camera at a glittering ceremony held at London Hilton Park Lane on Friday 1 December.
The event, hosted by Katherine Ryan, saw Meera Syal CBE honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award and Alison Hammond, Gbemisola Ikumelo and Louisa Compton amongst winners.
Other victors included Claire Ellis (senior dialogue editor at Molinare), who was presented with the MBS Equipment Co Craft Award by Tom Burke. Sarah Brewerton (editor, Nolly, It’s a Sin) won the Disney+ Contribution to the Medium Award presented by Susan Wokoma, while Nina Hartstone (supervising sound editor, Saltburn, Bohemian Rhapsody) won the Creative Technology Award presented by Edith Bowman.
Guests who celebrated the winners and nominees also included Adjoa Andoh, Aimee Lou Wood, Amelia Dimoldenberg, Carol Vorderman, Edith Bowman, Genevieve O’Reilly, Katie Price, Laura Whitmore, Romola Garai, Rosie Jones, Sheridan Smith, Susan Wokoma, Victoria Derbyshire, David Morrissey, Jack Thorne, Leigh Francis, Lenny Henry, Mo Gilligan and Tom Burke.
