Watersprite Film Festival is inviting student filmmakers from across the globe to submit their short films to the 16th edition of the festival. We are also inviting film students, film professionals and film enthusiasts to join our selection process as judges.

We nurture, develop and reward the best creative talent in the world, attracting the highest-quality student film talent from over 100 countries. The festival, held in Cambridge 7th–9th March 2025, hosts a variety of free networking events, film screenings and talks. Nominated filmmakers are provided with generous bursaries to contribute towards accommodation and travel to attend the festival.

Submissions are free and they accept Fiction, Animation, Documentary and Experimental films. The closing date for submissions is 9th September 2024, but submissions may be capped so submit your film soon to join the most ambitious student film festival in the world! To find out more about eligibility, entry procedures and our mentorship programme, head to their website here.

Judges are a crucial part of our selection process. We pride ourselves on the quality of our judging process and this would not be possible without our diverse and international judging committee. This is a great opportunity to watch some exceptional student cinema and get involved with the largest international student film festival in the world.
