Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden announce WBSL Reach apprenticeship scheme

Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden have announced the launch of WBSL Reach, their brand-new dedicated studio apprenticeship scheme offering five apprenticeships across key areas of their world-class Studio: Client Services, Plumbing, Virtual Production, Set Lighting & Rigging and Post-Production.

Offering a start in the world of film and TV, the scheme aims to provide a route into the industry without needing a specialised degree while gaining invaluable experience among experts in the field.

Client Services Apprenticeship

The Client Services Apprentice will work within a dynamic team who handle the account management for productions based at the Studios. This central function works closely with their other on site teams (Operations, Facilities, Security, IT and Projects) to deliver the best production experience for all their clients. Whether that be organising hired space, managing daily administration, collating and disseminating business communication or client show-rounds, this team are the first point of contact for all production needs and enquiries. Working within this team will provide the Apprentice with exposure to a range of production requirements and better understand how WBSL strives to deliver beyond expectations to enhance overall production experience.

Virtual Production Apprenticeship

V Stage is a world leading and ground breaking virtual production facility, recently opened at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden to pioneer cutting edge production technology for their clients. The Virtual Production Apprentice will support the Virtual Production team in a dynamic environment; learning all aspects of virtual production application, while supporting in the planning, production, stage operation and delivery of the technology to their clients. With a focus on client support, the apprentice role will gain valuable experience and insight into the virtual production pipeline, whilst gaining key production and operations administration skills.

Plumbing Apprenticeship

This is an entry-level professional plumber position, working under a licensed plumbing and heating engineer/supervisor, assisting with tasks which include maintenance, modification, and installation of plumbing systems at WBSL. The apprentice will learn all aspects of the plumbing trade including repairs, maintenance, leak and fault finding, reading schematic (drawings), Health and Safety regulations and installation of systems right through to commission. All tasks are building blocks in developing the required skill set to become fully competent in this field of work. This Apprentice position provides industry recognised qualifications and the opportunity to learn from an inhouse plumbing team which has extensive knowledge and experience.

Dimming and Control Apprenticeship, Set Lighting

This Apprentice position will involve all aspects of testing and preparation of dimming and control equipment for use on productions. General day to day activities will include the turnaround of rental items, cleaning, testing and preparing gear to go back out onto productions. At WB Set Lighting they stock an extensive inventory of control gear including different types of lights, dimmers, network switches, networking mesh systems, radio transmitters, networking converters (nodes) and finally several generations of Grand MS lighting control desks. This role is an opportunity to learn about every aspect of Set Lighting control gear including how items are used on productions, how they work internally and how they repair or program them ready for use on a production using the software and computing technology.

Post Production Apprenticeship, Warener Bros. De Lane Lea

Working across all areas of one of the UK’s leading Post Production facilities in Soho, the Apprentice will gain a unique insight into the picture and sound post production process from camera to screen, including Colour Grading, Sound Mixing and Dailies. Supporting creative, technical and administrative teams the role will enable the Apprentice to better understand what goes into making and finishing some of the world’s most popular films and TV drama shows.
