The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures announced today details of the 2025 Oscars Season at the Academy Museum, running through March 30, which invites the public to celebrate the 97th Oscars® and delve into Academy Awards® history through unique and engaging Oscar®-focused events and activities found only at the museum.
Oscars Season will see the Academy Museum campus activated for visitors to experience new gallery content, in-gallery tours and programs, Oscar® Sundays screenings, Oscar Nominee Spotlights, this year’s Oscar-winning film screenings, exclusive store merchandise, The Oscars® Experience presented in the East West Bank Gallery, and the Official Oscars® Watch Party.

Oscars Season festivities kick off with the Oscars Nominations Announcement and with updates to the Spielberg Family Gallery, Academy Awards History, and Oscars galleries that honor the legacy of cinema’s most celebrated awards. Highlights include Ryan Gosling’s Gucci suit from his “I’m Just Ken” performance at the 96th Oscars, Ke Huy Quan’s Actor in a Supporting Role Academy Award® for Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), Marlee Matlin’s Actress in a Leading Role Academy Award for Children of a Lesser God (1986) and Mia Neal’s Academy Award for Makeup and Hairstyling for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (2020).
The Spielberg Family Gallery will present historical and contemporary footage of past Oscars ceremonies sourced from the Academy Film Archive. The seven-minute montage features ceremony locations, stars, red-carpet arrivals, acceptance speeches, performances, hosts, and memorable moments from nearly 100 years of Oscars history.
Oscars Tours: Through the Decades will take visitors through the history of the industry’s biggest night and highlight memorable Academy Award wins. Oscars History Tours will run through March 30. Additionally, each month will feature a Gallery Spotlight, where special guests will explore select exhibition spaces and themes. These insightful conversations will delve into the connections between gallery pieces and the art, history, and science of moviemaking.
The Academy Museum Store will be adding new, exclusive Oscars merchandise to its collection in celebration of the 97th Oscars. The new collection includes the 97th Oscars poster, an Oscar statuette lapel pin, and an Oscars BAGGU reusable tote. Additionally, the store will continue to offer a variety of popular Oscars-themed items, including a neon sign, stationery, playing cards, apparel, and Pantone™ Oscar Gold products.
January and February will include Oscar® Sundays film screenings, highlighting exceptional Black artists who have been nominated for or have won Academy Awards over the last 65 years.
Award-winning graphic designer and creative director Kenny Gravillis will return to the museum on February 6 for Best Pictures of the 1980s with Kenny Gravillis, a look into the iconic era of the 1980s and the creative magic behind the 10 Academy Award Best Picture-winning film posters.
During the week of February 21 to March 1, leading up to the Oscars broadcast on March 2, visitors can attend a variety of Oscar Nominee Spotlights featuring this year’s nominated filmmakers. The week kicks off with Breaking the Oscars Ceiling on February 21, a conversation celebrating the newly established and competitive Academy Award for Achievement in Casting for films released in 2025 and beyond. Leading up to the Oscars show, visitors can attend programs featuring this year’s nominated filmmakers in the Animated Feature Film, Documentary Feature Film, Cinematography, Best Picture, International Feature Film, and Makeup and Hairstyling categories and enjoy screenings of all Oscar-nominated animated, documentary, and live action short films. On the days of the Animated Short Film, Animated Feature Film, and Makeup and Hairstyling Nominee Spotlights, visitors can view a showcase of items from the nominated films in the Sidney Poitier Grand Lobby.
On Sunday, March 2, from 3 to 8pm, the Academy Museum will host the Official Oscars® Watch Party celebrating the 97th Academy Awards. The evening will feature light hors d’oeuvres by Wolfgang Puck Catering, wine from Clarendelle & Domaine Clarence Dillon, access to photo opportunities on the Walt Disney Company Piazza, followed by the live Oscars broadcast in the David Geffen Theater. Tickets are $75 for members and $100 for non-members and include access to the Oscars broadcast, and an Official Oscars® Watch Party gift bag. Fanny’s Restaurant and Cafe joins the Official Oscars Watch Party festivities and will be offering a separate ticketed experience for the evening as well as a special cocktail menu inspired by this year’s Best Picture nominees (from January 31 to March 30). Following the 97th Oscars, the Academy Museum will present screenings of a selection of this year’s Oscar-winning films in the David Geffen Theater. The series will feature the Documentary Feature Film screening on March 8, the International Feature Film screening on March 9, the Animated Feature Film screening on March 15, the Best Picture screening on March 16, and a surprise wildcard selection screening on March 30.
On March 21, from noon to 1pm, visitors can go behind the scenes with the Academy Museum at Archiving the Academy Awards, a Gallery Spotlight program featuring a special guest and an inside look at the museum’s work preserving and conserving cinematic history.

The 97th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live at 7pm ET/4pm PT on ABC, streamed live on Hulu and air live in more than 200 territories worldwide.
