Sony will return as a main sponsor to this year’s EnergaCAMERIMAGE Film Festival, where it will showcase the latest innovations from its Cinema Line, including the Venice Extension System Mini, the Burano camera with its V2 software, and the FX2 camera launched this spring.

This year’s festival promises once again to be a “nexus of creativity, in-depth conversations with leading DoPs and technological advancement”, Sony said, and will take place from 15 to 22 November.

Among the highlights of Sony’s presentation will be the Venice Extension System Mini demonstrated in various configurations, including the Cyclops and Human PoV setups.

These configurations are designed to “enhance filmmakers’ storytelling capabilities, allowing for unprecedented flexibility and creativity in capturing their vision”.

Sony also announced that the Venice Extension System Mini will be shipping in January 2026.

Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to see the prototype camera that was instrumental in filming F1: The Movie.

Elsewhere, Sony will host two panel discussions featuring leading DPs on the Tuesday and Friday of the festival.

These mini seminars will delve into the future of cinematography, exploring the impact of new technologies on the art of filmmaking and providing insights from some of the industry’s most respected professionals.
