Shinfield Studios joint managing directors, Nick Smith, and Ian Johnson and, head of studio operations, Dean Horne were last week joined by Councillor John Halsall, Councillor Jim Frewin, councillor Barrie Patman and councillor Jackie Rance; together with Paul Inman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International), Reading University and the team from Curo Construction to mark the second phase of construction of Shinfield Studios.
The councillors were present to see construction work currently underway to prepare ground and foundations for a further five sound stages. On completion the state-of-the-art studio facility will comprise 18 sound stages, creating an 85,000 square meter media hub and becoming one of the largest film and TV studios in the UK. Phase one saw the construction of four sound stages which are now in use following accelerated planning permission.
Nick Smith and Ian Johnson, joint managing directors, Shinfield Studios said: “We are now well on our way to creating a world-leading media hub in the heart of Berkshire. The encouragement from Wokingham Borough Council, the University and the local community has been fantastic. We would like to thank all our partners who have supported our progress so far.”
Shinfield Studios is part of Blackhall Global Partners.
